Scentsy Marketing 101 - Samples

Scentsy Marketing 101 - Samples

Samples and or demos are an essential part of any sales organization and Scentsy is no different.  Scentsy sample are great to hand out to potential customers.  I feel they are so powerful as a scent has a lasting memory associated with it.  Simply leaving a business card or catalog leaves no lasting impression, add a Scentsy sample and that smell will forever be associated with you.

Scentsy does not offer samples that you can buy, but they are very simple to make  will explain in detail below what you need and how to make them.

You will need to buy or find:
- Small candy mold: Any shape will do, but the smaller the better so your wax goes farther
- Small 1 cup glass Pyrex measuring cup or other microwavable glass cup
- Small re-closeable craft bags: You can buy bags of 100 at Walmart for around $2 in the craft section
- Business cards: Be sure your website is on them!
- Freezer
- Scentsy bar in your favorite scents

To Make Samples:
1 - Place three cubes into your Pyrex measuring cup and place in microwave.  Warm until melted completely, usually about 2 minutes.

2 - Be careful to use a pot holder, the cup will be hot!  Pour the wax into the candy mold, making sure each area is full but not overflowing.

3- Place the full candy mold into the freezer in a flat area for 10 minutes.

4- After 10 minutes, remove the candy mold from the freezer and turn upside down. NOTE: If the wax does not fall right out, return the mold to the freezer for another two minutes.  They should come out easily.

5 - After the wax is removed from the mold, place one sample inside a craft bag and slide your business card behind.  Close the bag.

YOUR DONE!

Samples are great for handing out to get new prospects.  Think the drive-through coffee shop you visit, the grocery store checkout clerk or bag attendant, your nail technician or hair stylist.  I also attach a sample to each catalog I hand out and include a few samples with peoples orders so they can try out a new scent.

I hope you enjoy making samples and discovering new ways to market your Scentsy business.
